Hi,
Am I able to set up a trigger that would apply to all channels, if for example I was looking at 4 injectors.

Also, can I set up seperate triggers for seperate channels and have them running at the same time?

I have read about triggers in the help section but it was to do with what they do.

Any help appreciated.

Dan,

A trigger sets the requirements for a capture to begin.  Data is then captured from all active channels at the same time.  So, when the triggered channel meets the trigger requirements, you make a capture.  Or....when the signal stops meeting the requirements the capturing stops (very useful for catching that unattended stall).

There would be no practical reason I can think of to have triggers on more than one channel.  

I must be doing something wrong, in the past I have been watching four secondary patterns and only seen a good pattern on channel A. Then when I moved the trigger channel to channel B channel B looked good and A no longer did.

It was for capturing an injector and secondary example together for example or with a couple of sensors, the trigger might not be adequate for all channels.

I think I may not be understanding it correctly.

Sounds to me that you may simply be not be using  enough capture time.

Since these events do not happen at the same time, you will have to increase your capture time to see all the events.  If you have your capture time set to only get only one secondary event, for example, there will be no other secondary events on the screen.

Be sure to also increase your requested samples as needed to maintain adequate sample rate for the amount of time you are capturing.  The data in the properties tab can help you gauge this.

I have looked at the properties tab to try and work out how you would work out the adequate sample rate but it is not obvious to me. I will try and work it out.

To capture secondary, I would try to maintain 1MHz.  Go much under that and you will begin to lose the KV peaks.  The maximum capture time you can get away with and maintain 1MHz real time sample rate depends on which model PicoScope you are using.

The real time sample rate per channel for your settings will be shown in the properties tab.
