Title: Hi and hello.
Post by Daniel on Oct 10th, 2010 at 6:40am
Hi there fellow mechanics and autonerdz.  :)
Just to introduce myself here on this great forum. 48 years young and from Denmark.
I have been working on cars for over 30 years, 25 year jubilee next year as a self-employed garage owner.  8-)
I don’t own a Pico scope (yet) but I have several other scopes and test equipment. (Bit of a tool junkie)  ::)
The engines are a bit smaller here mostly 4 cyl. but I also have a few V6 engines to work on.
In the shop I also do motorcycles, Webasto and Eberspacher heaters but it’s minor part of the business.

Sorry for my humble English, but I’m working on it.

Here is a pic of my garage:

I must ask when those pics were taken and does the shop look like that today?

Very impressive cleanleness and tidyness [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

For a Yorkshire lad that is. ;)Welcome.

Mick

Edit
It has been brought to my attention that I got your post mixed up and it now explains the tidyness of your shop.

Hi Mick and Fisher thanks for your welcome.  :)
The shown pictures are from approx 2004. Yes we like it clean here both the customers and I.
It need to be painted now, and I’m doing it this winter so it’ll be ready for the reception in Marts, where all the customers will be invited for food and drinks.
Here is an updated pic from today after a Sunday clean.  :D

Welcome, Daniel.  Glad you are here and we look forward to your contributions.   8-)

Just a suggestion regarding pics and file attachments.  It's better to attach your pics and files using the file attachments feature rather them linking to them on another server.  The reason being that they don't go pouf when they get moved or deleted on the remote server.  We have lost things that way before.   :(

If they are attached here then they will never vanish as long as these forums are here.   ;)

You can attach up to five pics and/or files to each post.  File size limit 8Mb.  Don't worry about using our server space.  That's what it's for.

Very nice facility you have there.   :)

Thanks Tom.  :)
I did try the attachment button, but it wouldn’t attach the photos. It said something about upload once again for security reasons.!?
That’s why I did it this way. Sorry  :-[
I’ll practice on that later.  ;)

Daniel,

The attachments only stick when the next step is 'Post'.  If you preview first, then they are removed and you have to attach them again.  The security issue here is that prevents someone from uploading a file to our server with malicious code anonymously by previewing and then not posting.

Thanks Tom.
That makes sense.  :)
Learning by doing.  ;)
I’ll try again with this one.

You're in the right place then, since that is what we are all doing here.   :)

Yes it looks like it’s a great place. Hope I can contribute now and then.

What does it take to get access to the secret forum with all the goodies?

This should answer your question:

http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1237747351

Access to the Picogroup areas is only one part of the whole package.

Okay thanks Tom.
I’ll have to read more about that.
I have support and all the data I need here in Denmark.
You said something about a special price for subscription overseas.?
If I decide to by a Pico, can I buy it from you or is too complicated with post and tax.?

Very good.  We always encourage those overseas to look into sourcing PicoScope locally.  We don't want to step on the toes of your local supplier.

Yes, email me about that.  It's a modest discount on the annual subscription.

Again, we encourage you to source locally.  However, if you still insist on purchasing from us, we will not refuse you.  We have customers globally who did just that.  Some of them are in the UK...Pico's back yard.   ;)

The process is not complicated but shipping is expensive.  Plus, you might also have some import duties and taxes imposed on your end.  Also, if you needed warranty service, you would have to send it back to the Pico hospital yourself.  This is unlikely though since we have yet to see any 4000 series scopes fall in battle.  Always a first time though.   :-?

On the up side, shipping is quick and you get the extra hardware and the support package included, which does not require renewal.

You just have to weigh it out and see what is best for you.  Email me with all your information and I can send you an estimate which includes shipping so you have some numbers to work with.

Thanks a lot.  :)
I’ll let you know, by email.
We have a crazy tax system here, I’ll find out what kind of stuff I can import without being raped.  :-/
