I am contemplating purchasing a scope with more capability than the fluke97 that I have been playing with recently.

Hi Martin, welcome to Autonerdz. My suggestion is to invest in the Autonerdz Series CDs. It is studies in automotive lab scope technique & strategy, but the thing is jam packed with all kinds of good stuff. You can get it right here on the site., in the Autonerdz online store. ;)

A Fluke 97 was my first DSO. Great scope in its day. I actually still have it. Not really too useful anymore but comforting to have around ::)
