Jon,
IMHO, Windows 8 is a hot mess. Works fine with PicoScope though. We have a Windows 8 machine here because we have to do PicoScope software testing but we have spent more than we paid for the PC trying to get other applications to work. It tosses up roadblocks for many simple tasks that Windows 7 does with ease. Search functions are crippled. It's quite the disaster. Andrew has been trying to use the Windows 8 machine in his daily work here and we are now abandoning it and getting him a good Windows 7 pro PC. Then we will retire the 8 PC to software testing only. Some Windows 8 PCs also cannot be used with 7 because some of the 8 OS is embedded in the hardware. My advice would be to get two sticks. Hold them up in the sign of the cross and back away slowly from the evil. [smiley=evilflame.gif] Then get a Windows 7 pro PC. |
