Title: Snap On Vantage (Heritage)
Post by crackerclicker on Jan 2nd, 2014 at 8:50pm
My hands must be cold and dead because I'm finally parting ways with the trusty Vantage meter.  I've mostly used it for parasitic draw testing for the last few years.  Works great without any issues.  Looking for $250 elsewhere, but since this is my favorite group of people in the whole world I'll gladly accept $210 (yeah, I know it's cheesy to add the $10 extra, but I gotta ship it, don't I?  :D).

Comes with the red, blue, and black leads.  I only have one alligator clip for the red channel.  Also, the database is version 2.

I still haven't put this on Craigslist or Ebay yet, but probably will soon.  Here's a short vid for it.

Vantage is sold, and will be taking a much better trip than I ever will.   :)

I still use mine quite often.  I like the big screen, makes it easier for me to see on test drives, and I like the graphing too.  I have seen the latest and greatest vantage, has some nice features, but it seems to me that Snap On has taken away quite a few of the old features, like internal amps, which I don't understand.

I'll probably regret selling it, and pick up another one in a few months, lol.

I don't understand that decision either.  A former co-worker was considering the Vantage Ultra after his V. Pro died until I mentioned it didn't have internal amps.  He wasn't real impressed after that, and bought a used V. Pro.

In a way I am glad that snap on removed the internal amps.   now I will not want to buy one!
I do not use it much but when you need it ya need it

I don't miss it yet, but I think that I will in the long run.   :'(

That's ok, though, it will be in more capable hands now, and likely more often used.   :)
