hey guys for a 99 intrigue 3800 motor is there a regular issue that sets this code? I have not experienced this issue much. trying to help out a buddy in the next town over. any help will be much appreciated.

most common problem is the egr valve or passages dirty. if that is ok check the MAP sensor. one of them should fix it

Kicksbutt the intake passages have been a problem.

Add me to the list of passages. Do you have a scan tool to command the EGR valve before taking our educated guess?

They have some TSB's on both designs of EGR valves.

I've had a few bad valves. Is the intake plastic ? Sometimes they get melted. As stated by others, blockage is also an issue [smiley=nerd2.gif]

do you have a scan tool with bi directional controls? if so start vehicle and command egr valve to full open, does vehicle stall or almost stall?turn off engine remove valve and actuatekoeo again does valve open? just physically look at pintle does it open?start car with valve off and put your finger on the intake side and see how much air is getting through passage. should be pretty obvious
