Hello, my name is Dan and I work at an auto repair shop in Connecticut. I personally do marketing/IT work, but the owner asks me to research products and set them up for the techs to use. Lately it has come apparent that we need to get into oscilloscopes for diagnosing issues with vehicles. Since we are so new to scopes, we are gathering as much information as possible. After coming across Autonerdz, it has come clear that this is the best way purchase the tools and equipment in order to take on this challenge, especially considering the training, videos, forums, etc. We are all very excited for these upcoming challenges we are sure to be facing, everything from where to leads go to reading the waveforms.

Welcome, Dan.  Good to see you are doing the homework on this project.  So many don't research beforehand and end up regretting that.

Something for you to consider is that each of our kits come with a full Picogroup resources membership for one individual.  This can be anyone you select.  However, choose carefully because, once we have invested in them, that membership is not normally transferrable.  This is because we often spend a lot of time with a member to get them up to speed and would have to start all over with another individual.

What happens in most shops is that the Picogroup member studies and practices, making use of the extensive Picogroup resources and that individual then trains other members of the team that may need to use the equipment.

In any case, you would want to choose the tech that is willing to commit to study and practice as well as one that is sure to stay with you and not go off and work someplace else... :'(
