I need chevy exhaust manifolds
Oct 26th, 2011 at 4:16pm

71 K10 350 restoration project. After driving her for some 20K miles with no indication of an exhaust leak. She slept covered up, for 15 years. Come to find out after sand blasting the manifolds for paint, they are cracked, like see through cracks !!! Any way all new manifolds come with a.i.r. ports which I don`t want. I need a pair, ,,,

casting # 3989036, ram horn style, center dump, 2 inch outlet with donut style gasket , no accessory mounts or a.i.r. ports left and right the same.

I`ve spent 10 hours + looking with little to no luck. Have any ? Any leads ? TIA

Regards
Scott W.

You can always Braze the old ones (a lost art anymore). Brazing is done using brass and an acetylene torch OR MAPP gas and oxygen. OR you can buy cast iron welding rods - but very few welders can do this anymore. You have to weld cast iron very carefully - most welders cant do it.

Have you tried the racing supply companies?
(JEGS, SUMMIT)
Or have you tried Rock Auto (my fave) or Northern Auto Parts?

Anyhow those cracks arent that bad - its not broken in two - so you could easily braze those cracks shut once you vee it out with a grinder Wink

Whoa, messed up those pics, I`m not sure brazing would be the way to go for this application, good thought though. The manifolds will be coated  by Jet-Hot. They heat em up to about 1400 degrees, sand blast em, coat em inside and out with a lifetime warranty. I would be afraid bronze would void the warrenty.

New oe and aftermarket manifolds come with a.i.r. ports drilled in them. Don`t want that.

If they have air ports drilled in them, are they threaded?
If so just find some pipe caps and fill the holes....

Aftermarket headers have come a long way in the last 15 years. I wouldn't bother with the old crap. Some newer stuff would work better, IMO  Smiley
