Fuel rail adapters for wps500
May 1st, 2013 at 3:56pm

So the wps500 comes with the ford and chevy style fuel rail test port adapters however I am curious if any are available or if someone has built some and could offer some ideas.

For example here at the shop we have the motorvac fuel injection cleaner machine and its used as a fuel pressure gauge. With it there is a hose that would allow us to t into the lines I would just need to make an adapter to go from the male end of the t hose to and down size the fitting to fit the wps500 male end. If anyone has done this or created something else along these lines please share with details such as part numbers.

I have a fuel pressure test kit that I can hook up to the wps500
...

And also this hose I put together to test multiple application with one hose, it also has a shut off valve I was using on a jeep to find out if pressure was dropping on the fuel rail or in the lines back to the tank.

The quick disconnect that comes with the wps500 also fits the fittings in my fuel test kit.

The Motorvac machine has the same style quick connect as the shop air hose fitting. I was able to use the 100PSI SO Vantage pressure transducer this way. With the release of the Verdict there is now an easy way to connect a SO transducer to other scopes including Pico. If you already have a SO transducer it might be worth checking out.

In the image I uploaded I also included the extra fittings that come in the Autonerdz kit for comparison. It looks like the it is two sizes smaller but should be able to be adapted to the Motorvac.

I realize it may seem odd using the Snap On instead of the WPS for fuel pressure but there are couple of advantages that it frees up the WPS for other tasks and should something bad happen under the hood the SO transducer is a lot less to replace.

Hello Tyler,

I use the Pico Schrader short hoses in the shop and adapted my Snappy fuel tester to use on road tests or for the other type connections needed.

and my setup for exhaust back pressure.

Tyler,

I believe Tom may have the Foster quick-connect fittings so all you would have to pick up would be various 1/8" & 1/4" npt fittings and tubing fittings to make up what you need  Wink
