Hello guys.
Nov 16th, 2013 at 4:32am

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for accepting my registration to the forum. I am fairly new to the world of scope diagnostics and also the use of scan tools but have been in the automotive trade for 19years as a mechanic here in New Zealand.

Ive always been very keen to learn more in depth diagnostics but working for a company who chooses to just call in a sparky for that sort of work has held me back from progressing further.

Of late I have been doing alot of homework and study on scope waveforms and trying to improve my knowledge further which has brought me to this forum. Seems to be some very smart people on here I can learn from  Smiley

I have yet to use a scope but am saving for one at the moment. Seems the way to go is a 4 channel Pico and with the extra support that is offered through Autonerdz I am seriously consdering buying one through here instead of locally.

Thanks

Edyn

Buying a pico from autonerdz is the best way. The support is second to none. You won't be disappointed if you are ready to learn. Welcome Smiley

Welcome Edyn!  This is definitely the place to be if you want to further your scope education.  I would also agree with purchasing the 4 channel pico from autonerdz.  The support alone is worth the cost of the scope!

Thanks for the welcome.

Im sold on buying a scope package through here, so glad I done some homework and come across this forum, there is no support from the pico dealer here after a purchase. Will be looking into purchasing a kit within the next two months or so, for now I will be sitting in the background learning from the pro's.

Cheers guys  Wink

Don't dare stay in the background.  Ask questions and get involve.  That's the best way to make sure you understand what is happening.  If you are right, then that's great, but if your not then you will learn even more when someone explains it another way to help you understand.

Welcome to the group.  Once you become a full fledged pico group member, you get acess to the pico group forums.  You can spend hours upon hours reading these and learning.  Once I think I was on for 3 hours straight reading the forums.  There is a wealth of information on there.  You are going to love it.

Sounds excellant and looking forward to it.

I did notice all the good threads are locked which is fair enough. I should actually enquire re prices and shipping to nz so I know what Im looking at. I really want to start using a scope and getting familiar with it as soon as possible, so much to learn!  Smiley

Hi Edyn
I'm also in wgtn, live in Whitby and float around as a mobile Auto Sparky.

Currently only servicing a hand full of workshops, no retail work.

If you never seen the Pico in action drop me a line and we'll catch up (not after your work, got too much as it is)

You'll love it here, all friendly members

Hi autosparky!

Thought there would be a kiwi or two floating around on here. I work in Wgtn but have lived on the coast for the past year so commute into town daily.

I appreciate the offer thankyou, slowly getting my head around scope testing and waveforms but really want to get some hands on experiance.  Smiley
Looks like a good forum for sure!
