Hello Everyone
Feb 13th, 2014 at 5:43pm

Im 30 years old, just got out of the Army, and am attending Universal Technical Institute in Boston, MA Studying Diesel and Industrial Technology.  I came across Autonerdz videos on Youtube and recently became enthusiastic about the Autonerdz community and the Picoscope.  My student budget doesn't allow for me to get a scope of my own yet, but when I'm able to, I look forward to becoming proficient with it with the help of everyone here generously willing to share their knowledge.

John

Good for you John.  Pay attention in electrical classes.  New vehicles these days are nothing but electrical and electronics.  Feel free to share any captures you get in class.  We have a ton of guys on here that are more than happy to help.  Including myself.  I am a Diesel guy myself, I work on Transit Buses for a living.  It is a good field to get into.  Plus I have also heard that Genset Techs are in high demand.  As I said before, pay attention in electrical.  Thank you for serving our country.

Welcome aboard John, thank you for your service.  I'm a UTI alumni, Arizona campus.  If your school is anything like mine was, a word of advice, don't let the goof offs in class get to you.  Study, put in your time, and pay attention.  I feel like UTI is the type of place that you get out of what you put in, that's just my experience / opinion  Smiley
BTW, my big sister and brother in law are living in Boston at the moment, hope your staying warm.

John,

glad you made it home safely

Do you currently use Lab scopes or have one?

Did you download the Pico software and play around yet?

If you live locally and you would like to check out Pico scope in action, hit me up. I work In Somerville, Revere, Medford.. mostly. Me and a friend hook up time to time for messing around with the scope. Unfortinelty his shop bought a snap on, so he has no clue on how to operate it.   Cheesy
Though he will be buying a Pico this year (of course from Autonerdz)

Thanks guys,
Preston youre right about UTI and about the goof-offs unfortunately.  Ive found in this field, many seem more concerned with what they already know, and announcing it to the world, rather than what they dont yet know.  Its certainly an ongoing challenge..  And thanks KarlW, i might take you up on that, i live in Plymouth.  Our school uses snapon scopes/scan tools, which seem a little clunky if im totally honest, not to mention the price.  i got a chance to download the picoscope software and play around with it for a bit and all i have to say is wow! i feel like a biologist who just discovered the microscope! i cant wait til i have one of my own.  I'm  realizing more and more that this seems like the way to go.

This might be a stupid question, but will i be a "member" of the pico group once i purchase a picoscope through Autonerdz? The reason i ask is that i noticed the price for autonerdz group therapy sessions for members is $150, but for non members is $33,000? is this a form of humor flying over my head?

thanks again everyone

Yeah.  That was my idea.  I thought it was funny.

You will be a Picogroup member with unlimited access to all the resources:

http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1336513824

The live Group Therapy sessions are a part of that.  We started recording these a while back and put the most recent session online so those that missed it could at least watch it.  We will continue that.  What you found there is a new thing.  We put all the sessions together for those that want them.

Since Group Therapy is a Picogroup only benefit, I thought it would be funny to put a price tag on it for everyone else to get their attention.

I guess it's working.    Wink

Tom, not that your business is any of my business, but I'm still keen to ask have you sold any of those yet?  Grin

Nope.   Shocked

Well....to Picogroup members...yes.  We wouldn't really sell them to non members.  It's just our sick humor...
